Service for League City

The League City Fire Marshal’s office provides a very important customer service for the city. Through fire safety inspections, fire prevention classes / programs, and nuisance abatement inspections, we strive to ensure League City is a safe, clean, healthy place to live, work, and visit.
The office of the Fire Marshal will serve the community with honesty, integrity and respect.

Procedure for Doing Business
Fire inspections are scheduled, fire investigations are conducted as necessary.

Classes Offered: Classes are offered to the public to inform and instruct in the prevention of fires including evacuation plans, general fire safety, fire extinguisher operations, exit drills in the home, stop, drop, and roll, and the importance of a working smoke detector. Fire station tours are arranged through the LCVFD.

Fire & Building Codes Adopted: The City of League City has adopted the following codes:

  • NFPA Life Safety Code 2012 Edition
  • International Building Code 2009 Edition
  • National Fire Protection Association
  • (NFPA), National Fire Code

Fire & Safety Inspections: Fire safety inspections are designed to protect life and property by identifying unsafe conditions or practices. As a courtesy to the residents of League City, a free home fire safety inspection will be conducted at the homeowner’s/occupant’s request.

Fire Investigations: The Office of the Fire Marshal investigates the origin, cause and circumstances of every fire that occurs within the city limits where property has been destroyed or damaged. Further, the Office of the Fire Marshal investigates whether fires are the result of carelessness, design or arson.
